The American automobile manufacturer, General Motors (GM), has begun implementation of the AuraPortal (*) BPM Process Management Suite in their Ecuador plant.

(*) AuraPortal has recently been distinguished by the independent market analyst firm Ovum in the Decision Matrix 2011 report.

The acquisition of AuraPortal forms part of the $45 million investment plan that, as announced in April by the firm’s president for South America, Jaime Ardila, the company plans to carry forward this year in their Ecuador plant.

The implementation methodology has been to start with the creation and immediate launch of the first important process, and then to extend BPM to the rest of the entity processes.

For this first implementation the strategic Localization process was selected, which includes the intervention of various departments (including among others: Purchasing, Engineering, Material Administration, Logistics and Finance), and involves bids being made, the Quality controlled, all documentation managed, etc.
